Fines and Fees

A. Overdue fines

A late charge of $1.00 per day will be charged for DVD’s, E-Books and Rosetta Stone Language Sets. $2.00 per day for Otis Digital Audio Players. $.10 per day will be charged for books, videos, music CD's and audiobooks and all other materials kept out beyond the due date.  The overdue charge begins on the day following the due date of the item.  Material returned in book drops before the library opens will not be charged a late fee for that day.

B. Lost or damaged beyond repair material

Replacement costs for lost or damaged (beyond repair) material will be charged according to library policy. Please contact the circulation desk for assistance with replacement costs.

C. Damaged material

When material is damaged but can be repaired, a fair estimate of the costs of repair will be charged to the patron.  A replacement cost of $5.00 will be charged for lost or damaged audio-visual cases. 


If an e-book is lost or damaged, the patron is responsible for the cost of the unit plus a $50.00 processing fee.  The patron is also responsible for the cost of any missing parts.  The price of any missing parts will be charged to the patron record.  When the parts are returned, the charges will be removed from the patron records.

D. Copies

A $0.10 fee will be charged for each black and white photocopy.

Color copies are $0.50.

A $0.20 fee will be charged for each page printed at the computer printer.  A $0.20 fee will be charged for microform copies from microfilm or microfiche machines. 

Up to 20 pages of copies will be supplied free for interlibrary loan requests.

E. Cassette copies of Board of Trustee minutes

There will be a $5.00 charge for audiocassette copies of the Wayne Public Library Board of Trustee meetings.

F. Computer disks

Blank computer disks may be purchased for $1.00.
Blank CD's may be purchased for $3.00.

G. Replacement of Library Cards

The fee for a replacement library card is $1.00 per card.
