October 11, 2006: New Media Console Update!**Overdrive has released a new media console (Version 2.1). Anyone using Overdrive for the first time will be downloading the “new” console. Users with previous versions of the console will gradually be prompted to replace their version. (Overdrive says that it will automatically prompt users to upgrade, but that this process may not happen immediately.) Users do not HAVE to download the new version, but there is some new functionality that users should enjoy. This includes a new transfer wizard so that users can transfer a title to a portable player (an MP3 player) without having to use Windows Media player. Wayne Public Library - a member of Pals Plus - now offers digital audio book downloads.  ListenNJNW.com – our new online service -- allows you to check out and download digital audio books anytime, anywhere. Digital audio books are downloadable versions of audio books, similar to what you might find in cassette or CD format. These digital books can be downloaded to your computer and used offline. Some can be transferred to compatible MP3 players, or even burned to CD. Best of all, digital books are automatically returned, so there are never late fees or trips to the library.
