Wayne Public Library - a member of Pals Plus - now offers digital audio book downloads. ListenNJNW.com – our new online service -- allows you to check out and download digital audio books anytime, anywhere.

Digital audio books are downloadable versions of audio books, similar to what you might find in cassette or CD format. These digital books can be downloaded to your computer and used offline. Some can be transferred to compatible MP3 players, or even burned to CD. Best of all, digital books are automatically returned, so there are never late fees or trips to the library.

eBooks are now available on the site  and are ready to enjoy on the Sony Reader!

Most Frequently Asked Question about this service:

Q: Can I use my iPod to listen to downloadable audiobooks?

A: Yes! New updates have been provided by Overdrive the provider for ListenNJNW.com! Starting in mid-June 2009, millions of new and existing users with Windows® PCs will be able to install OverDrive Media Console version 3.2 with enhanced transfer functionality for iPod, iPhoneTM, iPod touch®, and iPod nano®, as well as Zune® and thousands of other portable devices.

Digital Rights Management allows checked-out items to expire on the due date. This is necessary in order to protect the copyright rights of the companies that provide downloadable audiobooks to libraries, since items are borrowed by users, rather than purchased.
