All programs are open to Wayne residents only.  All programs are held at the Main Library, unless otherwise noted.

 
Kids Helping Kids

Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Tutoring services by the Wayne Valley High School National Honors Society will take place in the Children's Department of the Main Library for middle school and high school students who attend schools that feed into Wayne Valley High School. Students may attend one or both days. Sessions will not be held when there is no school in Wayne.

Please email wvkidshelpingkids@gmail.com if you would like tutoring services, so the tutors can accommodate for each child's individual needs.
 
 

Winter 2010 Story Time

Registration begins Monday, January 25, 2010:  9:00 a.m.

Cuddle up to a story at the library!

Registration for the Fall Story Time Season begins at 9:00 a.m. in person or by phone: 973-694-4272  Ext. 5301.

Sessions begin Monday, February 1, 2010 and end the week of Monday, March 15, 2010. A library card is needed at the time of registration.  Space is limited.  For Wayne residents only.

Valentine's Day Party

Friday, February 12, 2010:  11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Registration Date:  Monday, February 1, 2010

Join us for a Valentine's Day Party!  Hear Valentine's Day stories, make a craft for you or for someone special, enjoy a cupid cupcake and have lots of fun!  Open to ages 3 - 6.

Children's Movie:  "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs"

Monday, February 15, 2010:  10:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon.

Registration Date:  Monday, February 8, 2010

Rated PG for mild brief language, 90 minutes.

Inspired by the beloved children's book, the film focuses on a town where food falls from the sky like rain.  However, things go terribly wrong when excess amounts of food overload cities and towns.  Open to children ages 4 & up.

Celebrate Chinese New Year!

Tuesday, February 16, 2010:  10:30 - 11:15 a.m.

Registration Date:  Monday, February 1, 2010

2010 is the Year of the Tiger!  Come celebrate the Chinese New Year with stories, a Chinese dragon craft, and take home a fortune cookie!  Open to ages 5 - 10.

Read to Rover

Friday, February 19, 2010: 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Registration date: Friday, January 29, 2010

Children ages 5 through 10 years old can read to three trained therapy dogs. They will not criticize or correct, but will patiently allow their child to read at their own pace. Each child will read to one of the dogs from their own book for 10 - 15 minutes.
