How to Access MyLibraryDV

A Wayne Public Library card is required to use this service.

Downloading content through MyLibraryDV is fast and easy. The following are the simple steps for viewing MyLibraryDV programs on a personal computer or Mac.

Step One: The Right Software

Be sure to have the proper equipment before attempting to download content. MyLibraryDV users will need the following:

• A broadband (high-speed) Internet connection, such as DSL or cable.

• The most recent version of your Web browser (Firefox and Internet Explorer provide optimal results).

• Microsoft Windows 2000 with SP4 or Windows XP with SP2. Please note that MyLibraryDV will run
   on Mac computers as long as the Mac has an Intel processor and software that enables the Mac to
   switch back and forth between its operating system and Windows, where the MyLibraryDV download
   manager will be installed.

• FlashPlayer 9 and Windows Media Player 10 with the most recent security update.

• 1 gigabyte of available hard-drive space.

• 1 GHz processor or greater (supports simultaneous record/playback features).

Step Two: Access MyLibraryDV

• Visit http://www.waynepubliclibrary.org/mylibrarydv.html and click on the MyLibraryDV button.

• Enter your library barcode number without any spaces, when prompted.

• Install the download manager, a one-time requirement that takes about 2 to 4 minutes. The manager is
   necessary to securely download MyLibraryDV programs. After installing the manager for the first
   time, use the desktop icon or the icon in the program listings to launch the MyLibraryDV player.

• Follow the instructions to log on. The download manager remembers you even when you close the
   connection. MyLibraryDV users will not have to repeat this step as long as they do not sign out.

• Browse the program menu. The Channel Guide provides content categories that list program titles
   alphabetically. For more information on each program, simply click on the picture associated with the
   title. The program information window provides a brief synopsis, along with downloadable file size,
   program length and a “Download” icon.

Step Three: Download a Program and Enjoy!

• Select a program and simply click the “Download” icon. The title will be added to the “My
   Downloads” playlist and will begin to download immediately.

• MyLibraryDV offers progressive download technology. Content may be viewed as the video
   downloads. Within a few minutes after downloading begins, the “Play” button will appear. At this
   point, the program can be viewed.

• For the MyLibraryDV basic service users may have up to 10 programs “checked out” at any given
   time, provided there is enough space on their computer’s hard-drive. Each program has a seven-day
   checkout period. After seven days, downloaded content will automatically delete itself.
