Read to a Dog

Children ages 5 to 10 read to
therapy dogs.

September 1, 13 - October 11, 20
November 1, 17 - December 1, 13

Each Child reads for 10-15 minutes to one dog.

Appointments are at: 3:45 p.m. at 4:00 p.m. at 4:15 p.m.

Preakness Story Time

Story Time Dates: Story time sessions run weekly every Thursday during September, October, November and December.

September 2, 9 - October 7, 14, 21, 28

November 4, 11,18 - December 2, 9, 16

A Storyteller will read picture books with children. Children use small hand percussion instruments and sing songs, play musical games and do crafts.

Caretaker stays with child and may participate too.


Enrollment:

Children must be at least 2 years old and be a Wayne resident. Registration is at the Preakness Branch, or by phone: 973-694-7110.

Class times:

  • Session 1:  11:00 - 11:30 A.M. every Thursday

  • Session 2:   1:30 - 2:00 P.M. every Thursday

  • Please call the Preakness Library in advance, 973-694-7110, if you need special assistance.

Puzzle Corner!

Help put together an ongoing puzzle on the round table in the meeting room corner!

General Book Discussion

The General Book Discussion Group meets at the Preakness Branch.  This discussion group focuses on contemporary fiction with the occasional foray into nonfiction and biography. There are no meetings for July and August.
