Programs are held at the Main branch of the Wayne Public Library & Wayne residents get preference for sign-up availability. Registration can be done online by visiting the Event Calendar above, beginning at the designated time on the registration date.

NOTE: If you are unable to attend a program, please kindly call the library in advance. This will allow others on the waiting list to attend the program, as well as prevent waste of materials.

AAA Safe Driving

Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 4:00-4:45 PM

Please join us for a fresh look at Spring safe driving tips with Roz. She will educate us on the dangers of distracted, impaired driving and new laws that will affect all drivers. All are welcome.

STEM Interactive Workshop

Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4:00—5:00 PM

Kelly, an honor student from Passaic County Technical Institute (PCTI) presents this STEM workshop. We will see who can build the strongest structure. Phases will begin with sketching, designing, and building so teamwork will be a must! The winners will receive a candy prize.

Open to Young Adults in 5th—12th grade.

The Art of Dawn: Creative Silhouettes

Everyone will enjoy creative expression by designing a unique silhouette portrait. Open to Young Adults in 5th—8th grade.

2019 Young Adult Summer Reading Club

Registration begins on June 18 @ 9AM

You must be entering grades 6—12 and be a WAYNE RESIDENT to register.

Teen Coffee House

Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 5:00—5:45 PM

This Coffee House will be an Open Mic style forum, a place where teens can come and play a song they’re working on, meet other music enthusiasts in the area, and support budding performers! All songwriters and performers under 18 years old are welcome! We will provide a keyboard, amp, microphone and sound system. Bring your guitar and your positive attitude and encourage future music makers! There are 10 performance slots so sign up as soon as you can.

Open to young adults in grades 5—12. Online registration starts Tuesday, May 21st at 7:00 AM.

Teen Creates: Butter!

Curious about how butter is made? Come and learn how easy it is to make and taste some homemade butter.

WPL Y.A. Chess Club

Come and develop your strategic skills and challenge a new opponent. Young Adults in grades 5—12 are welcome to play chess against our chess mentor Mr. J or each other.

CommuniTeens Meet: Design a UFO!

Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 5:30—6:30 PM

Fun, friends and food! Your unique UFO designs will be displayed in the Children’s Department this summer to go with the summer reading theme “A Universe of Stories.” Teens can also earn a community service hour. Open to Young Adults in 5th — 12th grade.

PEARL Observatory: Fossil Dig

Come and be a Paleontologist. Clean & screen and dig fossils that are up to 20 million years old. Lucky sifters will get to keep found treasures!
