Programs are held at the Main branch of the Wayne Public Library & Wayne residents get preference for sign-up availability. Registration can be done online by visiting the Event Calendar above, beginning at the designated time on the registration date.

NOTE: If you are unable to attend a program, please kindly call the library in advance. This will allow others on the waiting list to attend the program, as well as prevent waste of materials.

Do you have a gadget you need to know better? Get Device-Advice from our CommuniTeens. Register and bring your portable electronics and questions for one-on-one help.

ADULTS: REGISTER in advance with the Children’s Dept. starting Monday, January 6th.

TEEN TECH HELPERS: Young adults in grades 5—12 interested in volunteering their time & tech skills should register online or contact Lisa to enlist.

Learn all about how money works, how to start your first checking/savings account and how to create a budget. Open to young adults in grades 5th through 12th.

Chess Club for Teens

Tuesday, February 4, 11, 18, 25 from 4:00—5:00 PM

A learning experience for teens willing to develop chess skills & knowledge while also playing against other people in a competitive atmosphere. Open to kids ages 9—15 (no experience required).

Online registration for all dates starts Tuesday, January 21st at 7:00 AM. 



Teen Valentine's Day Program

Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 4:00—5:00 PM

Young adults in 5th through 12th grade, come and have fun making a Valentine craft. Online registration starts Wednesday, January 22nd at 7 AM.



WPL Y.A. Chess Club

Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 5:30—6:30 PM

Come and develop your strategic skills and challenge a new opponent. Young adults in grades 5—12 are welcome to play chess against our chess mentor Mr. J or each other.

Teen Snacks: Chocolate Fun!

Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 4:00—5:00 PM

Come join us and learn how to make a chocolate snack! Natalie, MS, RD, Retail Dietician from ShopRite of Wayne, will teach us how to make a yummy snack. Open to young adults in grades 5th — 12th.

Yoga Magic!

Join Debi as she guides you through a series of exercises that combine the physical and the mental. You will feel relaxed after this Yoga Magic class! Open to young adults in 4th through 12th grade.

CommuniTeens Meet: Wintr Pet Cardinal

Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 5:30—6:30 PM

Fun, friends, and food! Have fun while you also earn a volunteer hour! Write your own message to add to our “Grateful Heart board and create your own pet cardinal which will be on display in the Children’s Department and available for pick-up after March 1st. Open to young adults in 5th through 12th grade.

Knit & Nosh for Kids & Teens

Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 4:00—5:00 PM

Learn the basic skills to create fun knitted projects! Knitting Club is open to beginners or those who want to improve their skills. NOTE: Please bring your own kids Knitting Needles: 7”-Size 10/6mm or anything close to this would be preferred for little hands. Open to Wayne kids in 2nd grade & up.

Major+Money+Me=College

Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 5:30—6:30 PM

This interactive workshop will encourage a student to choose what they want their college experience to look like. We will explore three distinct aspects of the process: MAJOR + MONEY + ME = COLLEGE. Open discussion in each section is welcomed and encouraged. Each student will actively work in their own workbook and leave the workshop with the crucial elements needed to begin their unique college search.

Open to young adults in 9th—12th grade. Online registration starts Thursday, February 13th at 7:00 AM.
