The Library Administration consists of the Library Director and Assistant Director. They are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Library and working with the Wayne Public Library Board of Trustees and Officers and with the PALS Plus Library Board.
 
The Library Board of Trustees and Officers is appointed by the Mayor of Wayne Township and creates and approves library policies, as well as the budget, negotiates staff and union contracts, monitors library finances and expenditures and also manages the library booth at Wayne Day and plans and implements library fundraisers along side the Community Outreach Committee and the Friends of the Wayne Public Library.
 
The Reference Department Staff will help with using the library's resources to help answer your informational questions, assist with placing material holds for your favorite authors, place requests for ordering materials for the library, place inter-library loan requests, provide computer assistance as well as assist with the use of reference desk materials. The Reference Department staff run the library's many book discussion groups, plan programs such as Lunchbox Learning, Summer Reading and much more! Computer classes for beginners are provided in our training center, registration is required. Reference Department staff manage the adult library collections by ordering materials and locating donations appropriate for the library collection. 
 
The Children's Staff also help with using the library's resources to help answer children and young adult related informational questions, assist with placing material holds for your favorite authors, place requests for ordering materials for the library. The Children's Department staff also plan programing for children and teens, work with teen volunteers and manage the Children's and Young Adult Collections.
 
The Front Desk Staff are responsible for not only checking out materials that patrons wish to borrow, the staff pull the many hold requests that the library receives each day, call patrons to notify them when their holds are available for pick up, receive our book deliveries. They also help to put the shelves in order, process the daily magazines and newspapers and assist patrons with new library cards, renewing library cards and much more!
 
The Friends of the Wayne Public Library provide financial support to the library through the sale of donated and discarded books and other materials in the Friend's Room. In addition the Friend's of the library support the Lunchbox Learning Program as well as other library programs and fundraisers. Once a year the Friend's of the Library hold a Volunteers Luncheon to thank all those volunteers for their time and efforts.
 
The Community Outreach Committe helps plan and organize special events and outreach initiatives for the library.
