Programs are held at the Main branch of the Wayne Public Library & Wayne residents get preference for sign-up availability. Registration can be done online by visiting the Event Calendar above, beginning at the designated time on the registration date.

NOTE: If you are unable to attend a program, please kindly call the library in advance. This will allow others on the waiting list to attend the program, as well as prevent waste of materials.

Can Writing Be That Easy?

Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 2:00—3:00 PM

Open to Young Adults in 4th through 12th grade. Have you ever gotten stuck trying to write an essay?  This Spontaneous Writing program can help!  Mr. J. will teach you tips that can help improve the thought process, and develop creative writing skills for all students.

WPL Y.A. Chess Club

Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 6:15—7:15 PM

Come and develop your strategic skills and challenge a new opponent. Young Adults in grades 5—12 are welcome to play chess against our chess mentor Mr. J or each other.

Do you have a gadget you need to know better? Get Device-Advice from our CommuniTeens. Register and bring your portable electronics and questions for one-on-one help.

TEEN TECH HELPERS: Young Adults in grades 5—12 interested in volunteering their time & tech skills should register online or contact Lisa to enlist.

Parents are invited to come with their children to a presentation on bullying, with audience participation, Q & A, role playing and “hands on” activity called “mirror image reflection.”
Learn the horrific and devastating effects of cyber bullying, Recognize the early signs your child is being bullied, Learn to deal successfully with both victims and bullies.

Mark Walters, retired New York City and NJ School Principal, is one of the nation’s leading authorities on bullying and the devastating effects it has had on our children and communities.

Teen Knitting Club

Teen STEM: LEVITRONS

Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 5:00—5:45 PM

This lesson will focus on magnets and how they can be used to raise a vehicle above the ground. By raising a vehicle above the ground, students will discover the advantages that a levitating vehicle can have.
